Coin attract, the stories need a punch line as well as something interesting in them. You have to ask for their opinions, they have to be able to relate to the situation. To feel your emotion in the set-up. (Comedy bits have set-ups and punch-lines). Because comedy is about pain. You increase the emotional tension in the set up, and then there is a funny turn that makes the set laugh to let off the tension. That is why stand up comedians always make jokes about their divorces, their bad situations, etc. If you can increase the tension more, the laugh is bigger because there is more tension to let off. A lot of pick-up comedy bits is in the set-up. And in letting off the tension, it reduces the anxiety of the interaction. Because when a new attractive guy is speaking to the chick she becomes tense and anxious inside, just like you do when you approach. But once you and her laugh, the tension is broken because of the laugh and it relaxes the situation so that you can get to know each other better. She is vibing you and you her. It is all about routine design. You can sidetrack in the middle to NLP to get her imagining "lust at first sight" in her mind and associating it to you before returning to the bit. Because you are not saying at the beginning "this is comedy, you are supposed to laugh". You are saying "this is something that is on the top of my head and I am exploring the issue live with you looking for avenues we can take it to make the conversation fun and enlightening. This is what interacting with me is like."

You are relaxed and comfortable in your own skin. That is attractive. Who would not want to continue spending their evening with such a person? That is not to run down the buying temperature stuff. It can be inserted within a good little comedy bit, or used between them. But a good comedy routine can allow you to hold the floor and establish you as the man in the situation.
