Throw out your Funny Stories (1)

Comedy routines are a staple. Maybe the problem with your "funny stories" is a qualitative one. That your stories are not good enough. Here are some things you can do with a good 1 - 2 minute comedy routine:

Here are some of the things it does:

• Introduce her to the reality of your world.

"This is what it is like interacting with me. I am so confident that I can tell this story even though it is TOTALLY INAPPROPRIATE for polite boring conversation". So you are drawing her into your reality. A story from 3 years ago is NO-GOOD. It needs to be from last week / yesterday. You recycle them always presenting them as if it happened yesterday.

• I am so relaxed, I can already treat you like you are my best friend.

This is the sort of story I obviously tell my best friend, and I am sure you will accept me. The world is so easy for me, that I have no nerves and am I sure my shit works on the audience. There is no nervousness, and I am 100% positive you all are going to like me. However, the whole place are my friends, and I am not invested in you so if you don't like it, there are many boring get-to-know-you conversations with lamos that way.

• It can bring up sex, but only as a vehicle to a punch line.

• It can present you as sexual.

• She realizes she can take off her kid gloves when dealing with you.

It is not just her that is the brunt of the jokes. You don't take yourself seriously and this interaction with you will be playful and fun (note those buying temp stuff does the same thing).
